Tom could actually be funny way back in the day.

Jeezo-FLIP!! I just sort of wandered into here this a.m., and…..OMG, I can’t quite believe GC is running these…….not unwelcome, mind you….this was a deliciously knuckle-headed strip “way back in the day”……….

…in regard to the comments apres my first comment: I probably stopped reading Funky before the 70’s were over. Several years ago I looked around to see if he was even in the world anymore, and discovered that Mr. Batuik "fast-forwarded " the strip and lands the characters in their late 20’s or maybe early 30’s…….we didn’t see them in college at all…..most if not all of ‘em still live in town (a Funky getting dangerously close to “early middle age” runs his own pizza joint now, Les teaches at the local H.S. (where “Bull” Bushka, his nemesis, is the football coach….Bull agrees to get counseling re: his bullying ways……his dad was ALSO a bully, little surprise there) and “Crazy” Harry is the town’s handyman……I saw these things maybe 6 or seven years ago (now tell me: did I guess correctly that the marching band director was the ONLY character who seemed to never age?)

Hoping to move up to a junior high school next year, won’t have to worry about being peed on.

One of my local rerun channels started showing the very early seasons of “Saturday Night Live.” They age about as well as these comic strips.
