Philippe Petit is a French highwire artist who gained fame for his unauthorized highwire walks between the towers of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris in 1971 and of Sydney Harbour Bridge in 1973, as well as between the Twin Towers of the World Trade Centre in New York City in August 1974. Still very much alive, 75 years old. Four films dedicated to his life-story.
RBION up to the usual standard. “The fearless ‘Three Jacksons,’ acrobats, Jarley Smith, Jewell Waddek, and Jimmy Kerrigan perform a balancing act on a ledge on the 86th floor of the Empire State Building in Manhattan on August 21, 1934. The act took place 1,050 feet (320m) above the pavement with no safety net.”
I saw an act similar to the Jacksons in a Tijuana dive bar. There were 3 girls, all naked. They would have gotten a standing ovation when they finished but none of the guys there could stand up for a while.
