Leigh Rubin, who draws Rubes, is a friend of mine. About a month ago, Leigh’s wife Teresa suffered a serious medical issue at home. She’s in a coma and on a ventilator in a care facility that has Leigh six hours from home to be with her. You might think that being a comic-strip artist means you live in mansions, but no. And this is costing a lot of money.
