If you get fired while on vacation, are you still fired? I had a supervisor who left a message on my answering telling me that my vacation had been cancelled and that I needed to be back to work the next day. When we got home the next week, I called her and asked if I needed to bother to come to work and she said that I was fired for not being at work and she never approved my vacation. I showed up at HR the next morning with my leave approval slip with her signature at the bottom. She was called in and told that I was NOT fired, and I came to work that afternoon. I told her that it was not my fault that she approved my vacation for two weeks three months before I went. Next week she was transferred to another shift.

Surprised he waited that long. Usually the bad news Friday e-mails come at 4:00.

I had a boss that loved to call meetings right at quitting time. Being exempt employees we didn’t get paid overtime.

Shouldn’t that say “sadistically?”

I leave at 5. My computer goes off at 4:45. I won’t see the email until Monday.
