At the risk of being lynched, I will point out that it has long been customary for women to butter up guys to get jobs done for them, and it is still common. The young ladies in class have no trouble getting help with their homework from desperate male brainiacs, though at least half of the brainiacs these days are female. Thus I sometimes see the behavior shown here, where the male dork gets the female brainiac to feel sorry for him by acting helpless and give him more help than she should.

Techniques have changed a bit, but the world goes on as it always has…
