That last one (about Edward Paul Abbey) has the the feel of many of the vintage Ripley’s entries.

Good morning Pickled Pete! Thanks for the chuckles. I’ll probably calculate the monetary value of 100 camels later today. Is that one hump or two? Have a great day. It’s only 58° this morning in South Fl. Feels fantastic. ☺️❤️

Camels were introduced in Australia in the 19th Century as beast of burdens but they were set free and now pose a threat to natural habitat and Aborigines.

How do they know the age of that tree without cutting it down? Or taking a sample?

Back in 1975, there was a comedy movie “Hawmps” based on the attempt to use camels for the US Cavalry in Texas

There older trees elsewhere. The USA will not admit it.

There was also a failed attempt to use camels in British Columbia in 1862 to 1863

I’m reminded of a humorous scene in an episode of ‘The Prisoner’ in which No6 takes part in an election campaign. A news reporter asks him several questions regarding his manifesto to which he continually replies, “No comment.” Eventually No6 loses his patience when asked what he thinks of life and death. He replies, “Mind your own business!” The reporter writes down and says aloud, “No comment!”

Loved your camel story, Pickled Pete. I’m thinking if your ban isn’t lifted soon, perhaps if everyone here has a polite word with the moderators, they might reconsider…
