I prefer to stay missing if it is Frank who is looking for me. He looks a mite shifty.

Another week in the Old Comics Home, without seeing anyone other than Mutt and Jeff (and possibly ol’ Sparkplug)? Is this a Walt rescue story, or a murder mystery??

    - – - – -

Here’s the classics update for the 25th:

Skeezix give Pete the Cop the 4-1-1 on Emil, neighborhood bully and developmentally-challenged third grader. This kid is advancing slower than Jethro Bodine.

As far as anyone in Conniption knows, the Quyat Burp origin story doesn’t last much more than a week of strips.

Look out Queen Vall, Kolina has dropped the silent act, and our visiting royal suddenly recognizes the mortal danger. Monarchs have to be on the lookout for who’s coming up from behind with a dagger.

Well what do you know, Walt runs into Avery and Doc, and they’re all just a few steps from the diner. How about they step inside for a cup o’ Joe, and maybe some reminiscing?

(Wiki suggests that March of 1974 would be the end of the oil embargo, which was basically caused by turmoil in the Middle East. I’m not sure Nixon was the One to straighten that out, he was dealing with seven senior White House staffers being indicted this month, and the cover-up was on.)

Maybe Gertie, as if I remember he left without his cane and jacket?

Now what’s the Frank Nelson lookalike going to do with Walt Wallet?

As others have noted, Walt may have had a medical incident and this is his dream-like take on what has happened. In real time the EMTs may be in attendance but appear as just another character in his dillusion.

Yay! An APB out for Walt!! Get him out of that house of doom with those increasingly dislikeable anachronisms.
