Reminds me of the Linus Van Pelt saying of : I love mankind, It’s people I can’t stand.

The Greek prefix “mis” means “hate.” Anthrope is from the Greek word “anthropos” which means "human being. " A misanthrope would hate himself. The man who is never seen doesn’t love himself.

I have a Peanuts comic where Linus is holding his blanket and says, “I love mankind, it’s people I can’t stand.” Classic! One of my all time favorites.
