There is no actual news in the news anymore. It’s all pablum and trite banalities. Information? Please, it’s a wonder these anchors can pronounce their names consistently, much less deliver anything resembling actual information. It’s all “infotainment” now, cuz that’s what brings in the kids!

If I hear one more word about Michael Jackson or Mariah Carey on the evening national news, I swear I’m gonna puke.

Also, if you’re reporting on a story, and one side is demonstrably bat-crap insane? It’s not being “biased” if you call them on it. It’s called “investigative journalism.” Research it.

Love the line that they will fit into any newroom budget. Everything is the bottom line, new is no longer community inrterest but just another bottom line profit center…or else.

Cogent - Are you really so crass as to cheer the death of perhaps the last universally respected journalist?

I tried watching a Blu-Ray DVD the other day (speaking of hi-def) and it freaked the hell out of me. There’s realism, and then there’s being so realistic that you realize that the “natural” lighting in a scene is artificial. HDTV is ruining everything these days.

If you look up the definition of the word “gravitas” the last panel will make more sense (in a satirical way.)

Ohhh, you mean “Wait, Wait Don’t Taze Me Bro” - they got a real chuckle out of that lil’ incident, I heard (second-hand).

I want my misspent member contributions back, dammit!
