Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your

It takes character, Calvin!
âAll you need is loveâ That includes faith, confident hope, commitment, perseverance (never-say-die), determination (stick-to-it-iveness), focus, concentration, steadfastness, etc.
By the mile, itâs takes a (long) while,
by the yard, itâs very hard
but inch-by-inch, itâs a cinch (comparatively anyway)!
Compromise when you share fundamental principles. Otherwise, fight to the end. If you surrender on fundamental principles, then you never had any to begin with.
Somewhere in the backs of our minds we all know Hobbies is nothing more than the dare I say it⊠Alter Ego of Calvin in the body of a stuffed tiger. Which makes this all the more profound!
awesome! I was just thinking yesterday how one way of doing things does not mean it applies to all situations, and I agree, you have to know when to hold âem and when to fold âem.
Glad to see our âdynamic duoâ managed to get out of their
âsnow suitsâ. I guess that neither one was seriously damaged
as both are walking well and the depth of snow doesnât seem
to hinder them.
I donât believe in the either or as Calvin does. I say as said previously you should hold fast to your principles/ fundamentals. Also âpick you own battles.â Not everything should be fought over. It will just frustrate you and make you sick. Some things you should let slid and others are not worth fighting over. It takes a lifetime to learn these lessons. Luckily Calvin is learning them at age 6.

Hobbesâ opportunism crept through from yesterdayâs strip

Calvin, you are right.
Maturing is highly overrated.

Calvinâs method is to fall on the ground, kick his feet and scream until he gets his way just so heâll shut up.

Iâll take Hobbesâ advice on this one.
Hi Marg & BC13!
alondra about 15 years ago
Donât worry Calvin. You have plenty of time to mature later on. Youâre only 6!
celeconecca about 15 years ago
But good advice to pack away until youâre older.

Well said, Hobbes.

Montana Lady, I think Calvinâs philosophy is more in the next two lines:
âKnow when to walk away; âknow when to runâŠâ

I think Hobbes and the both of you are very wise! Now if only the president and members of Congress felt the same way and would act accordingly!
Pacejv about 15 years ago
@PaulMâŠthank you. Even GretchensMom seems to think that we should have Congress show some moral leadershipâŠbut, I guess Iâm dreaming.

So many of the comments fail to show any understanding of this comic.
avonsalis about 15 years ago
Calvin knows Hobbes is right - but itâs only human to resist wisdom when your feelings (animal urges?) are raging.
Teenagers actually often realize what Calvin is saying here. Which makes Calvin just as precocious as I thought he is.
