I think of the possibilities of Calvin meeting Danae, all the time. If they didn’t kill each other then they’d take over the world, and then probably hire Pinky and the Brain as their chiefs of staff (and Lio as their head of the Dept. of Homeland Security).

If I really wanted to bore you all to death, I could type out what Dr. Linda Berens says about ENFPs like Calvin and me when they go sour in a particular way. They talk and act exactly like this. YIKES.

How is it that the Sarah Palin gun nuts don’t realize that, if it came down to it, the Liberals would be hunting them! Ethical and open-minded progressives vastly outnumber neanderthals.

Good Morning Mike Firesmith and Loki. Hope this is the extra treats Sunday.

Johanan Rakkav .. Myers-Briggs (ENFP stuff) was popular with TV’s Dr. Phil types 20-30 years ago. No longer widely used It points to personality types and says nothing about intelligence. When you post an ego rant of more than one line, I skip over it and keep going. That’s a real shame because you do have a nice sense of humor when you quit trying to impress and choose to amuse.

Agreed Cleokaya – Danae & Calvin cut from the same mold. Except Danae has a decent dad and a really cool mom to be while neither of Calvin’s parents seem to want to be involved – they only do it when forced to.

And whatever happened to the Golden Rule – I know I was in school a long time ago, but then it seemed ageless – little did we know.

I know this may sound a little weird but considering the number of sites on the internets dedicated to arguments and rants could we not find one place where we could just kick back and enjoy a comic strip?

It’s enough that something is funny, isn’t it?

It’s pronounced “Hobs” and the name of the strip is a play on the names of 2 philosophers: John Calvin and Thomas Hobbes.

It’s hard to believe that this strip was inked last century but it’s message is timeless and very applicable to today. Watterson was great and it’s a real shame that he ended the strip so long ago.

In this strip we see Calvin’s selfish side and the consequences of living in a selfish world. Tea party activists and their ilk can learn much from this strip. Or perhaps not…

In some ways I see teenagers to young adults doing the same to get ahead in the world. Having Calvin’s way of thinking. Evan though this is a comic strip I guess I will never get ahead with man or woman kind.

An ethics class (college) student tried Calvin’s line with his professor, who responded, “Good. Now I don’t have to bother reading your papers or tests. I’ll just arbitrarily give you Fs.” The student objected, “You can’t do that! That’s not fair!” The Prof smiled, and replied, “OK, so you agree that there are rules of behavior. Now we can talk about what they are and why.”

Hobbes got the same result, with more directness.
