Calvin and I have been reading your comments the past few days, and we agree that Marg is one of the best.
There are many bullies in the world, and unfortunately you will sometimes come across them online. But trust me, Calvin is not one of them.
Even though Calvin likes to pick on Susie, he does not really want to hurt her or to steal from her. So he is not the same kind of person as Moe.
In this world, we all make mistakes and we all sometimes hurt other people, sometimes without even realizing it. What is important is whether or not we truly want to hurt other people, and whether or not we feel guilty when we realize that we have hurt someone.
Sometimes we need forgiveness. Sometimes we need to forgive others.
Often we need to have a good friend. Just as often, we need to be a good friend to someone else.
And through it all, it really helps if our best friend also happens to be soft and huggy.
I have been reading this strip for quite some time and enjoy the strip as well as the comments.
Past few days I see the comments on particular individual rather than the comic itself.
I know some body commented harsh words on Marg, but we are concentrating too much on it.
I believe we can forgive and forget, and move on.
I do not wish to see this forum turn into something like a social networking site.
As many of you die hard fans know, the first thing we ever learnt about Hobbes is that he would do anything for a Tuna sandwhich. Tigers are kind of dumb that way. You better make sure he’s stuffed.
There is no way I can get on here early enough to be anywhere near the top of the comments, but who cares. I have decided that Marg works at GoComic and is the one who down loads them into the site. Or she is a real night owl. Hello to everyone who loves comics, especially Calvin.
Good afternoon, finally made it before the end of my day. Dogsnif, you made me laugh!!
Loved this one, reminded me of my kids when they were little….still have some of those stuffed animals, rather “dog-eared”…
Don’t forget you don’t even have to leave the United States to be in the first batch of commenters. As I understand it turnover is about 1pmish. THat is about 9pmish WDT People staying up to midnight would seem like nighthowls to us EDTers.
@margueritem-this hopefully wont sound like a stalker, but I have been watching calvin for years, and therefore seen your posts. You seem like such a kind soul… I look forward to your comments nearly as much as calvin… fyi, my fave calvins are the ones where Dad only has a few frames of film left, and cant get Calvin to stop making faces… lol
I know I wouldn’t want to be in the same bed with a hungry tiger! So if mom doesn’t truly want to permanently lose her only child, she’d better make Hobbes a tuna fish sandwich pronto if she wants to save Calvin’s life (as well as her own)!
My granddaughter woke me up one night and said she was dreaming of the story I read her before bedtime with Winnie the Pooh and his honeypot. The honey was making her hungry. She had already raided the refrigerator and gotten out her favorite snack of apple slices and carrot sticks along with her water before she hopped up on the bed. Along with my husband we all had a bed picnic snack with her and then she was done. She told us to stay in bed and she put everything back and the refrigerator and tucked herself back into bed. Cute as a button!

Good Morning, Marg, Mike & ♠Lonewolf♠
Welcome, Hobbes. Good to hear from you.
vibjyor about 14 years ago
Dont worry Calvin, Hobbes wont be so stupid as to try and eat Mom and Dad. He just might eat only you as you are the nearest to him.
TheSoundDefense about 14 years ago
Hobbes always has the best advice. When he’s not hungry, anyway.
Of course, when confronted with a hungry tiger, getting him some food is very good advice.

Thank you Hobbes!
Love you guys. Then and now. You always made me feel soft and huggy. : )

Better Give Hobbes Some Food, Ey Mom?
alan.gurka about 14 years ago
Marg probably lives on one of those Pacific islands just one minute east of the International Dateline. Or would that be west?
Rakkav about 14 years ago
That would be just west of the IDL, if she really wants to start the day by default before everyone else. But I don’t think that’s really the case.

Yes, Calvin’s face in panel 3 is so sweet and innocently pleading. (We don’t see him that way very often).
PB&J might be OK for Calvin, but for Hobbes it had better be TUNA!
