Laura: What are you doing? Adam: Insulating the attic. Laura: Are those my throw pillows? Adam: What's more important, our warmth and low energy bills... ...Or something that lies on the couch, looking pretty and doing nothing? Laura: Well, I'm in love with something that does most of those things. Adam: Touche. But everybody knows that dozing and watching are doing something.

Does MOST of those three things… must be two things… what is the thing Adam does not do - look pretty or do nothing?

Adam should be carefull, “looking pretty” is actually doing something as well… just ask any model or exotic dancer! looking pretty is hard work!

Should have edited down the last panel … a bit wordy. But this has been one of my favorite adam week’s. Silly , silly, silly.

I think one or two of those pillows is enough, otherwise they are in the way.

I love that she said she is in love with him. The line could have been harsher. And I love that he got it without being surprised. That’s the way these comic strip marriages should be. And real ones, too.

“Why do I get in trouble when I throw the throw pillows at the cat?”
Because it’s redundant. Cats basically are throw pillows, distinct only in that they rearrange themselves.

Adam should just have said: “Touche.”

I’m with Ji2m and Macushlalondra, some people seem to be under the impression that couches are there for the sole purpose of storing throw pillows–and that the more there are, the classier the throne. Silly me, I thought couches were for sitting on!

I have to question Adam’s grasp of economics - I’m pretty sure it’s more expensive to insulate with throw pillows than with rolled insulation - although costs may be different in cartoonland, of course.
