emm, can some one help me explain the meaning of “holy bovines”, I know this phrase show the mood of surprise or terrible, but how and where use this phrase?
RadioTech over 15 years ago
“Holy Bovines” comes from “Holy God”, meaning intense surprise. Some people believe that using the name of God is unrespectful in this situations, so other people started using “Holy Cow” as a mock up because of the the close sound. “Holy Bovines” is just a comical derivative, and I would not use it unless writing a comic strip…

Holy Bovines or Holy Cow is a reference to the Hindu religion in India. Like “Holy God”, it is an epithet.

I prefer “Great Gallopin’ Hornytoads” myself. But then again, I thought most everything Yosemite Sam said was funny.

Good answer Radiotech. And here, it works. Let’s not forget the Batman/Robin connection. Will this be the end of General Cordwood? Tune in next week for the next upcoming, action pack installment.

To paraphrase Dilbert’s daddy from memory, “I hope Gosh doesn’t bleeep me to heck for using the name of his son Jeepers Cripes”.
But why can’t the corporal follow the script?
