Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Good Evening All! (written @ 10:21pm Pacific) I like the Scarlet Stingâs car! Classic 60âs style crime fighting vehicle. Hmm.. colorist is still giving DoubleUpâs flunky grey hair. Maybe working for DoubleUp aged him prematurely. I wonder if Haku is on leave because of a liver condition, it would explain his jaundiced color.
A gold star for whoever can tell me the character in my avatar. I figure she deserved to be my Tracy avatar, since she and her partner (also female) protect Chicago from the bad guys. Like Tracy she likes finishing her assignment with lots of gunfights, car chases, and explosions. You can start the Jeopardy theme music now.
By the way, this strip has come so far in such a short period of timeâŚfirst class all the way and a real tribute to the creative talents of the writers. Kudos all around
good potential villain, I was mentally guessing Doubletalk, but this is good. I hope the arc lasts a little longer than the first two. It is great to see interesting crative villains, this is two in a row, use them wisely
Sorry, this story will be the same length as the first two, as we didnât get the all clear for longer tales until this week, which will go into effect with story 4. But thereâs lots of action ahead in this oneâŚ.
@Tarry: Been a fan of the Cats since before the mangas and anime were translated (see their appearance in Giant Shanda Animal #2 in the late 90s that I scripted)⌠Great video! :D
I believe that Haku came out years ago in an old Gould stripwith some villain named Big H and his stooge Flyface.I recall something about a tape-recorder in the form of a tiki that Haku had when he was a detective in disguise.

I think it is a cross between these two.

Nice (so to speak) reference to an earlier arc in panel #2.

Tracy knows lots of people in law enforcement. Has Haku appeared in the striip before? He doesnât look like a Chester Gould original. Is he new?
And most names mean something in this strip. What does Haku mean?

Haku Kou appeared in the original adventure of Flyface and the Fifth, back in 59-60. He was working undercover and they believed him a criminal.

I think DoubleUp bears a striking resemblance to Paulie Walnuts from âThe Sopranosâ.

I still like DoubleTakeâŚ. movies are shot in âtakesâ of each scene, and this guy âtakesâ what he wants⌠a double meaning!
gimmickgenius almost 14 years ago
⌠and my European-Brain tends to pronounce âDoubleupâ as âdu-BLOYP.â
