I guess the cross hatching wasn’t blood after all. Tess realizes she’s been had?!?

Could it be the woman he met at Tracys’ home? Nah, that would be too easy to say. The cross-hatching must just be shadow, as it appears in the first panel. Will any authorities investigate this now?

How do you miss someone at point blank range?

Why doesn’t Doc remember meeting Angelboreusall?

Once upon a time, criminals were actually scared of Dick Tracy. The mere mention of his name sent shivers down their spines. The would repeat his name in big capital letter “DICK TRACY!”. Or stammer out “D-D-D-ick Tracy!”. Eyes would pop out of sockets. Hats would fly off of heads. Cigars would be spat out of mouths. Enormous sweat beads would blast from them. The very mention of his name chilled them to the bone.

Now they (try to) shoot people next door to him without a silencer. Sigh.

One big contradiction still sticks out. For what purpose did Angelorious have that big charade at the Tracy’s house, introduce herself as Representing WISTERIA Cosmetics and displaying a strong interest in promoting the “Dick Tracy” cosmetics line ? Why would a big OIL company have an interest in marketing a “start up”, unproven scent some ladies were going to try to “peddle” door to door, in the neighborhood ? What does Angelorious mean (1-29) “It’s a go just as planned”!? Why have a top OIL Executive say (1-31) “So give it a famous NAME just make it work”! (thought he wanted to develop petrol with more “KICK”) And on (2-02)”Good, but don’t get careless and blow our cover”! Followed by “Just have the good Doctor sign our exclusive contract” Then when Angelorios secures the needed contract for Driller why risk discharging a gun shot yards from Tracy’s home that will attract unwanted attention?

There is still no CRIME (misdemeaner?) after 10 weeks (180 panels) Gould ‘s longest to the crime in his final 12 stories was forty two panels. Back then Tracy was an ACTION Jackson What story telling “secret” or technique does Locher have that Gould never knew ?? No wonder he got a new paper in China! (?) Up to now (after 10 weeks) readers don’t clearly “KNOW” what is happening. Do you?? My worry is, that Locher is still trying to “figure it” out.

Of course, the cross hatching was not blood. It was just a joke! DL doesn’t “focus” on issues in the strip long enough each day to be that “innovative”. He apparently never has. Example: Up to TWO years after the “thoughtless” introduction, he is still working out what function or use Lt. Teevo wilL serve on Tracy’s squad. Reading messages from a piece of paper takes him over the top Meanwhile he is still mulling over what is “happening” here, while happy that one admirer gets enraptured with his classic build up of “suspense” as another easy to please, reader, experiences ‘mental’ orgasms seeing a “genious” at work. I guess he has to be, to hold on to these two disciples and the “work” while churning out such impecable nonsense for syndication

Now let’s see if backup arrives since Tracy was screaming 9-1-1 into his watch. Chances are that no one shows up.

Nubby lives up to his name in the second panel.

Tall and in black ? Sorry can’t go to Noll’s funeral after all. Angelorious missed. Imagine! At point blank range.

margueritem, thanks for taking the time to express such kind thoughts.

Hmm! Perhaps, to stay in “good graces” I’d better put up that ‘pic’ I have in a Navy Blue suit. ;)

Y’all have been misled by the genius of DL. Actually, this is a superhero comic, and Dr. Noll has discovered a formula that renders the wearer impervious to explosions and bullets. That is why both the CIA and the underworld are so interested in Dr. Noll. The formula has a few side effects - which is why Noll has trouble with his left eye and burns on his skin.

Noll is also something of a scatterbrain, and has given his PRO-tect formula to Tess and friends. Tess’ friend has the skin burns - but won’t realize the formulas other properties until a psycho shoots up the restaurant where she is dining with her husband, and she stops a bullet for him.

C’mon, it’s obvious from the third panel that Tracy and Tess have agreed to accept Angelglorious’s new name, so we should too.

You’re all wrong! The good doctor Noll placed his left hand in front of his face to block the shot from the Dancing Queen resulting in the fingertips on his hand being blown off. Sydney, didn’t I see you in some McCloud episodes playing the 1st Desk Sergeant? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0065317/fullcredits#cast

Angelglorious shoulda been “done wrong”. They shoot better when they have a jealous motive!

Morrow, if anyone has been “done wrong” it’s the readers of this strip.
