Looks like that stray hand is going to punch B.O. in the head.

    Dick needs to stop squinting.

    Nice outfit, Mr. Queenie.

Yep, you should always be cautious when you’re at an “ATM Machine” (Automated Teller Machine Machine).

    Anybody see the ducky?

Has anyone noticed that in the previous panels, the missing eye was his left eye. Today, the visible eye is the left one. Any you all are right; the costume is a knock-off from Queenie’s. No originality. Also (not to be picky), Jack must have a nice wardrobe because his colorful robe that he was wearing last Sunday doesn’t match today’s.

There’s an ancient Egyptian influence here…look how the bodies of B.O. and Jack are facing us, but their heads are turned 90 degrees away from us.

What’s that growth on Jack’s palm?

I have suffered through the Dick Tracy storylines for a couple of years now and I have to say this is a happy improvement.

Even when the story is bad the art is wild, sort of Andy Warholish you have to admit. Jack’s dress is positively pop art. I love it!

What’s this with the NEW Playimg-Card “hair-do”. Is it a “wig” for a ceremonial occasion or is he off to catch a plane to Rio or Trinidad Carnival. Sort of late for that. It’s this sort of mid story change that blows me away. Even Loafers “favorite” sounds seem to be changing. Today we have for the first time a “BA-ZING” from the slot machine and no rubber duckie unless you count that indistict earing on Tess. Of course, if you have an active “imagination” we may begin to see a double “MAMMY” on the “seat” of the couch.

But we muat all agree with Deli Delicious today, only a genious could have drawn a normal sized “hand”, waved so graciously by Jack in that final panel. In a house of outrageous sizes to draw a “normal” hand proves you are a genius. It’s the first normal hand in Dick Tracy in ages. (Little fish in tiny pond?)

Oh! I like petersandy’s “kind” words “wild art”. Effective, without need of the silver bullet. Problem is, compared to a Rock Bottom start any upward nudge looks spectacular !!

Notice too that there are more TV monitors than they have at Police HQ these days. Never used to be so.

Then, I’ve been noticing, Jim signs his name in heavier LINES than Locher’s (fading). Is this a reflection of feeling his spurs, a subtle sort of “dominance” … I’m “on top!” Like in the Dog world?

It’s good to see that there is new exterior art for the Casino and no irritating (once again) paste-ups.

it is anatomically impossible for a human being to hold up his own right hand to the right side of their own neck with the thumb on the OUTside. ok, it HAS to be someone else’s hand. no other explanation. bleeep, you would think that a cartoonist that is blessed to have a nationally syndicated, historical comic strip in his hands (so to speak!) would just do a TAD of proof reading and viewing before sending them in for publication. (unless it IS someone else’s hand, but that was not part of the storyline) on the other hand ( so to speak!) the colors and contrasts of these Sunday strips are visually pleasing and pretty cool.

Do we have a clue who O.E. is yet? And is this the Eye-Jack guy from earlier this week? Sure hate to see what the Suicide King is going to look like. Messy.

Wait, O.E. has to be “One-Eye” doesnt it. Sorry. I thought for a second it’d be something clever.

    Re nighthawks comments:

That’s what happens when you have a team of an Artist and Writer. It’s said Locher is now the “writer”. Jim thinks that’s Locher’s Department. Yes it is! But you have one flicking “careless” guy there!

    Nothing new in Locher fare?

There is no mammary. Tess’ earring is a rectangle, and the couch pillows have no points on them.

    margueritem says:

“There is no mammary. Tess’ earing is a rectangle and the couch pillows have no points on them”

I agree margueritem. That’s the “point”! My “sigh” of relief so to speak, that now, absent for two weeks, the inapropriate “rubber duckie” charade is finally over.

First “leg” out the door ?

What about in between the two doors in the second to last panel? The squiggle on the right could be the “duckie”.

Or it could be in the flowers in the second panel.

B.O. has a stash in the basement, don’t tell Tracy. Tracy looks a little like Eightman today.
