Uhm just a quick question from the dogpound;
How does bodies flying out of office windows, adn a vertible cavalcade of coppers, rates as âStrangely quietâ?
Or am I over thinking this thing?
well, what can be said here? oh I know; Barticle, have I ever told you I think your avatar is just awesome? Is that a real shot of you? (please say yes)
So, when I got lost in a terrible but populated part of DC, all I needed to do was pull over and ask that nice looking group of men for directions? Good to know!
Isnât there more crime in âpopulate areasâ? I believe Dick Tracy has been watching too many horror movies.
Btw: In the early years of this strip, several Chicago South Side locations were mentioned.
No one could succesfully accuse Dick Locher of carrying the story too fast forward today. A more accurate acknowledgement would be, heâs taking it âsidewaysâ.
Heâs Crab walking again !
The 7th panel, out of eight is a replica of action from three days ago. Photo-copy style again?
Last week I was full of praise for the Sunday presentation where he seemed to wipe away the regular stigma of going nowhere on Sundays
Last week was not the first time he has managed a brief âflash in the panâ only to return to the âcomfort zoneâ of indolent displays right after.
I donât accept the Praetorian Guard explanation that it is the TMS Editors who mandate inflexible repetition on Sundays. Seems all they want is to make sure, those that read Sundays ONLY, are not left out.
Locher takes the easy way out. Seems he doesnât have the savvy to properly space action in his Sundays to avoid ârepeatingâ his dailies. Gould and Collins did it every week in a whisper. Itâs done properly in TMSâs Brenda Starr and Annie. Only Kilian and Dickey in the entire industry in America ever had the problem.
Barticle35 is right. I think Locher should drive to a more populated area for guidance.
*Lost?
*Drive to a populated area for guidance.
â
Is this such a problem we need advice for it? âOMG! Iâm lost, whatâll I do! Should I run around in circles? Where is my flare gun? Iâm afraid Iâll die, lost and alone, in this unpopulated area. Iâll have to eat my car tires to survive. If only I hadnt canceled my subscription to Crmiestoppers Textbook. Dick Tracy would know what to do. Oh woe!â
Itâs ridiculous that Jack is being held off with that tiny rake thing, when he grabbed a much larger roulette wheel. Also, I may be splitting hairs, but what kind of old lady who doesnât believe in banks says âduhâ?
There are many other issues today (the Crimestoppers is hilarious), but theyâve all been covered.
How the heck did Tonsâs two gang members get down that stairway and into the basement? Werenât they held upstairs/outside on a chain? With one trying to kick down a wall?
This strip currently has the worst Sunday coloring of any Iâve seen, and thatâs pretty bad, considering some of the others out there. I mean, bright red on an antique telephone? Especially one belonging to B.O.? Not to mention all the rest of the wildly clashing colors. I realize that the colorists want to get our attention, but geeze, this is just plain ugly!

Jackie seems to have shaved his mustache today.
Today we have âOW!â instead of âTWANG!â
End this nonsense and hire someone who has a clue how to write a story.

I know Tracy has seen some close shaves in his time, but with the razor âedgeâ on that Croupierâs Rake, he sure gave Jack a clean one.
Hold it! No beard!
