When Warbucks was with Desnay [?], he phoned Annie just before the big snow storm. The fake Warbucks knew of this call. This is what led to the attempt on Annie’s life by the fake.

I had forgotten the cell call Jogger. But, the point is Annie doesn’t know her real Daddy is back home. That’s why she hasn’t called him. She may not know the fake Daddy tried to kill her, but does know she can’t count on him in a pinch like the real one. Since Punjab, the Asp and Amelia (maybe) are all MIA, she’s on her own.

Readers here expect consistency and continuity (and don’t mind some artistic license) - unlike, ahem, the current Dick Tracy.
