This is why daily strips should be left in black and white, as drawn by the creators. Leave color for Sundays. Outsourced colorization is rarely a good thing.
Boog’s pants started blue, and changed to brown, back to blue, several times over the past month. I suspect the colorist does too many strips to maintain continuity. His shirt trim started brown, and changed to red in stages.
Sadly, the colorist today did not color in Joel’s pipe. A few people have commented on the changing sign on Joel and Rufus’ wagon…. I think it is a continually changing sign that Mr. Scancarelli uses “poetic lisence” with to add additional humor to the comic. Other comic writers also do this…. think of the changing faces often seen on the shirts of characters in “Luann” for instance as well as a few others.
