I agree with you, Alice. That’s why I don’t do mayo. Just mustard, baby, spicy brown mustard.

I cannot stand mayo. Alice is obviously, therefore, a genius!

I wonder if Alice will grow up to be a vegetarian. “Save the baby kittens, don’t eat beef!”

Blasphemer! Mayonnaise is the sine qua non of bread spreads. Miracle Whip is a foul substance best used as the base for deviled eggs.

I have tried the bacon-flavored mayo. It’s quite good. A bit strong, though. Look up Baconnaise online.

Best answer ever- Because! All the mayo haters out there crack me up, they have no idea how often they eat mayo, it’s in alot of things. Reminds me of the kid who is happily enjoying his food until he realizes it contains something he “doesn’t like” and spits it out. Ha Ha! …And I hate to burst your bubble, but Miracle Whip IS Mayonnaise.Mmmmmm, baconnaise. Great on that tomatoe sandwich or Hamburger- and easy to make too!

Yes, I will eat some things that contain a little mayo, but by itself, never! Yuck. Give me mustard, catsup, salsa (not seltzer).

Now THAT’S funny. An appetite supressant, nonetheless, but still funny.

And, thanks for the “gopher” chant, purpledog—I’d forgotten all about that!

Mom bought Miracle Whip (salad dressing) for a while and I never liked it. Remember eating mayonnaise sandwiches, though, and they were good. Just plain white bread with mayo. Still like it. :D

You can make mayo with one egg yolk and one cup of olive oil. Add oil a little at a time to the yolk while whipping it with a beater. By the time you’ve added all the oil you’ll have a very nice cup of mayo. (Yes, the yolk gradually becomes white. This surprised me, too, the first time I made it.) You can season it however you want. Salt, bacon, paprika, garlic, even chili peppers (green or red.) And you can use the oil of your choice. I like olive oil, but you can use avocado oil, too, or sunflower, safflower, corn or experiment with sesame or a nut oil.
