Why should kids get a summer break? Do parents get the summer off from work? People back in the early 1900’s went to school year round and they got a heck of an education. Most graduated high school and went into farming.
My Grandfather, born 1890, went to school 8 months a year. They were farmers so the kids had to help with planting and harvest. There was no high school in the area so most kids only got 8 yrs of school max.

Yes, the school is obnoxious. But I don’t think kids need as big a break as they get in ’regular" school schedules.
