Aaron, you the man!!!! I love the way and where this is going. How dare an intelligent thought enter into an irrational argument. I can see a number of issues being represented in this new story and I like it!!! Keep it my friend!

Well, we learned earlier, that he is quite an unpleasant character, but thanks proofing it, Mr. Neathery.

This is a wonderfully handled yet dire occurance. Keep it up Arron!I am wondering if the guy in the audience manages to “disappear” due to the Rat Boys? And I wonder if it will be remembered just what a coward Jack Rabbit really is? You keep me hooked Arron!

Hi I’m new here and I discovered Endtown two days ago and liked it, congratulations to Aaron Neathery for creating such an interesting comic strip!!!! Endtown is simply awesome and the romance between Holly and Wally is the best plot I’ve seen in years. Please keep these characters around forever.

Did Albert specifically disguise himself as Cooper to sneak into Endtown when he returned from his bean hunt? It would have been an incredible coincidence if he didn’t know there was already someone who matched the disguise.If Cooper is a known and respected person in Endtown, Jackrabbit will have some difficulty suppressing him.

Heh, reading this strip and the couple before it I can’t help but imagine Jacob being voiced by John Hurt (a la the High Chancellor in ‘V’). >:-)

I take it there is no talk radio in Endtown. Rallies seem so old fashioned nowadays.

@firedome: Boo hiss! (and chuckle)What needs to happen is to have more people jump up and support Cooper, show Jake how many disagree with his ideas. Sane and rational thoughts presented calmly can have the force of a jackhammer, but do need a plurality of sources to have a good effect.

Aaron continues to be one of the best on the web. Amazingly, the voting on TopWebComics now had the original Endtown with50% more votes than Endtown 2.0. Guse that means new readers have been discovering the strip. Our votes help more new folks discover both strips. The original is at 380 and 2.0 is at 487 this morning. Let’s get them into the 200’s.

Got my Harvey Awards ballot today. The comics selected to make it to this final vote are all good and I’m eager to read the result.

Ya know it’s spooky when you realize that all these characters are bouncing around in Aaron’s head.

looks like ‘Mr. Fishman’ violated 1 of my Gran’paps rules. One was always wear clean Underwear in case you’re in an accident, but Number 1 was Never argue with a Crazy Person! -- And if you REALLY want to make your point, if Mr. Fishman sounded like Jackie Mason while the rabbit had a German accent…. You get the point.

I would like to see a debate between Professor Mallard and Jake Jackrabbit, although picturing the prof with Hans Conreid’s voice would make me wonder what Jake’s voice sounds like. It would have to crack sometimes, I think.I really want to see how this all turns out because so far, to me, it seems to be more about extremism from anywhere rather than a specific political party or a religion.

My background is in WWII history, so I’m eating this up with a spoon! Aaron, you are amazing! What is frightening about this plot is that, while it holds a mirror up to Nazi history (so far), so much of it is still applicable in the world today!

In panel 3 Wally and Holly seem a little calmer. They’re hearing a voice of reason—for the first time SINCE THEY WALKED IN THE DOOR! Unfortunately, JACKBOOT Rabbit doesn’t want any voices of reason at his Torchlight Rally.

Aaron—I love this strip. There’re little things, little touches that hit me when I’m not expecting them that make this strip so rich. I’m looking at Jackrabbit’s face as he’s calling for Stormtroopers—I mean Security. There’s a real virulent hatred there. It’s a very vicious expression. What’s disarming is that it’s on the face of rabbit—a cartoon “funny animal.” A Bunny! And then you realize, this isn’t a funny animal strip—it’s a completely plausible science-fiction scenario. And it strikes you that if something like that ever did happen in the real world, there probably would be people like Jackrabbit—and they would look just like that. And they wouldn’t be cartoon characters safely separated from you—they’d be standing on a podium somewhere, pounding their fist on a table, frothing at the mouth, psyching everybody up to a murderous frenzy—and that you could easily become their target. The combined horror and absurdity of your murder being ordered by a cute little jackrabbit—just like in Monty Python and the Holy Grail—except it’s not funny any more.

Hay Fish face got’s a point there.

Cooper seems to be bringing up several points that our heroes seem to be very interested in. I can see Jacobs vision of a New Endtown where those mutants who have embraced their mutation (changed their names and are something identifiable) are considered Citizens. Those mutants who aren’t anything specific regardless of whether or not they change their name are suspect and therefore are Second Class Citizens. The Humans immune to the virus will more-than-likely be tossed topside

I, too, have just recently stumbled upon this strip and absolutely love it. Is there a website that a person could pick up on the Endtown story from the start? Or are books available?

The sound of reason is always amazing whenever it comes across. I’m liking this guy more and more.

Thanks for the tips on bolding and italics! (wow, it really works!)I know it’s been said before, but reading the comments for this strip adds a lot to my overall enjoyment of it. I get perspectives and views I hadn’t seen or thought of. It’s the only strip I come back to later in the day. Thank you, Aaron and everyone else who adds to the experience.

What makes me wonder, is Endtown going to become as dangerous as the topside?

Ignore all the thoughts that this all has to deal with Nazis or other ancient dictatorships. Just remember that Jack is in the media, and who his boss is.

Hoo boy, Wally’s got another cause to fight. From previous history, he’s not going to stand by and let injustice reign. Yipes!

The show must go on … Wow, it’s amazing to see how many comments this strip has sparked! (Apart from the bold/italics discussion ;) )
