Sam told Barney that the next time Barney got in trouble, Sam might do him a favor. But I don’t think Sam is going to tie Dick to a chair while Barney runs for cover.
So the previous storyline has wrapped? Hm. But I am still liking this comic WAY MORE than I have for a very long time. I especially like that Honey has a special granddad name for Dick.
Gosh, Doubleup is barely the clink, the clink!, and already a pirated “making of…” has been distributed to dealers! Big pirate mistake: “starring Dick Tracy.” It’s not smart to ask for the cops to pay attention to your nefarious schemes!
Hold on a sec – Footage from the arrest at the studio has been made into a DVD and packaged in printed boxes and distributed to stores so that Honeymoon can buy one and bring it to Dick Tracy ONE DAY later? Or am I misunderstanding what is on that disc? I guess I’ll have to wait until tomorrow to see if an explanation is forthcoming.
The extra details and shadowing on Tracy’s face reminds me a little of the way Rick Fletcher used to draw him.
June 23rd’s strip showed Honeymoon working somewhere where she was alerted to “streaming” video on the new Scarlet Sting movie. It could be a few days later.
If Barney had already been planning to bootleg Scarlet Sting (or whoever Barney gets his DVDs from had already been planning it), a cover may have already been ready to go, and the featuring Dick Tracy part could of have been added later. The covers of such movies are rarely studio professional anyway. The real question is who would be bootlegging these things these days, it seems like a pretty tire-d industry
This strip is now great. all most as great as when I was a child in 1962. I have not been reading since the flooded building. @idesama thank you for the Diet Smith head up, great to see the space coupe again. I remember the “no more corpus Delcti” from Mr. Bribery.

Good evening all! Well it looks like the colorist toned down Honeymoons make-up. Much better, thank you.

They had DVDS in the 30’s?

Hmm, these days they bootleg DVDs. In earlier decades, they did the same thing with…other things. Hmm.

Tracytown is a place where Dick and his friends wear 30’s fashions, yet also use iphones. It’s just down the road from Sin City.

@idesama: “anywhen”? – I like that!

Seems like a time warp. This episode hardly “starred” Tracy. It starred Liz, Haku, and Doubleup with a cameo appearance by Tracy.
