yesterday, as some people were talking if Elwood would be there, I thought âthey might do a Zeye displayâ, but never thought Tiff or Lue would be there. would be interested if Tiff is sponsored by Elwood, or she created the Zeye booth herself

Did Gunther make another costume for Luann?

Fan Service from the Tiffster! Crystal takes the brush-off in stride, while Knute slathersâŠ.

Iâm surprised Tiff is Zeye again. Elwood told Luann he liked her better in the role â but maybe he felt too rejected by her personally to hire her again. In any case, yeah, bad move, Knute. You may be about to get a big girl knuckle sandwich, with a side of cold shoulder.Guys never learn.

Susan, Tiff might have decided to âsponsor herselfâ as Zeye, so that people would ask for her autograph. would be funny if that was the case, and the booth had the âofficial Zeyeâ with the âofficial Zeyeâ being Luann or someone else

Actually, I am really pleased that things like Comic-Con exist. They validate the medium as a valid cultural form. You still hear people rubbish shows like The Simpsons as being vacuous, but in reality they are the cultural expression of our age. In the past, things like dancing were regarded as time wasting, but we now look back at older styles such as folk dancing or even waltzing as valid culture. Go back far enough, and I think all great arts started out as trivial diversions when there was nothing better to do.When I was a kid, comic books were rubbished, often literally. Now, we look at comic book icons such as Superman not only as art but as being philosophical ideals and their fictional existences addressing many faceted nodes of self awareness and even moralities. What would Nietzsche have said about Clark Kent?

Okay, WHERE are the Klingons? Oh wait, WRONG âConâ.

Still say it doesnât make sense for them to dress as each other to go to Comic-Con. Everyone else is dressed as comic book characters, or movie characters, or whatever, and theyâre just dressed as each other. Kind of odd â unless they are supposed to know they exist as comic book characters, which doesnât fit this strip.
I know, I know, itâs just a comic. But still weird.

The first panel looks like the San Diego Convention Center. Does that mean Luann et.el. live in San Diego? Thatâs just where I live, heh-heh.

I have a feeling everyone is going to be at Comic-Con. Maybe evenâŠ..wait for itâŠâŠ..keep waitingâŠâŠ..wait a little bit moreâŠâŠ..DIRK!!!!!!!!
RinaFarina over 13 years ago
The third panel is carefully drawn so you canât tell whether theyâre holding hands or not. I think thatâs very romantic. It was the same the other day when they first exchanged clothes.

Tiffany F.??? What sheâs doing here?
DeGrootingforLuann over 13 years ago
I fear a showdown between Luann and Tiffany â YIPES!
RinaFarina over 13 years ago
As to shoes, the general effect of menâs clothes is that they are very oversized. Womenâs clothes are generally tighter. So if they exchange shoes, thereâs room to maneuver.

I went to the San Diego Comic-Con once. HUGE and crowded! Greg drew the crowd as few. We kept bumping shoulders and did rubber necking to see what was over there.

@Baslim the begger â you missed Mordock999âs bit of paranomasia!

Greg Evans lives in San Marcos which is in San Diego County.
It makes sense that âPittsâ is in Southern California and therefore makes it very easy for these teenagers to travel to Comic-Con on their own.
doverdan over 13 years ago
Logically, Elwood should be there. Has he gone back to Tiff as his eyez of zees? Luann should be there with Quill, who Elwood does not like.

Hey guys, Comic-Con isnât some local flea market! Itâs a big international deal with over 100,000 attendees.Anyone lucky enough to have bought a ticket months ago can come in costume, of course. But the booths are for movie studios, comic-book publishers, high-end collectibles dealers, and known artists â with probably a small cheaper area for large clubs, fan publications and such.At WAY smaller, local collectibles shows, 20 years ago, a tiny booth cost me 150 to 350 dollars.I imagine the cheapest booth at Comic-con would run into the thousands today. And ALL vendors are required to qualify under strict guidelines, and be licensed. No piracy, or promotions by attendees without booths, would be tolerated.SoâŠ.. Tiffany having her own booth, or holding an autograph session as Zeye without Elwoodâs backing, would be totally unrealistic, and make this seem likeâŠ. you knowâŠ.. just a comic strip or something.
imbaldeagle over 13 years ago
So, Susan â youâre saying that Tiffany is there because ELWOOD wants her there? How strange, since Elwoodâs latest Zeye model was Luanne! Maybe the ring-thing changed his mind âŠ
BackwardsHatWearingGuy over 13 years ago
Was just chatting with DeGrootinForLuann and she thinks that Luann is going to crash the real Zeyeâs booth at noon. And get this, the real Zeye is Luann! Itâs possible! Right? It could happen. DeGrootingforLuann has come up with some crazy ideas that proved right in the end. Admit it!!!
BackwardsHatWearingGuy over 13 years ago
correction, Tiffany is going to crash the real Zeyeâs booth, my mistake.
DeGrootingforLuann over 13 years ago
Thanks for the correction Lebowski! I seems like weâre all trying to figure out how Luann figures in. Could be that Greg decides to let Tiffany have this one but we fans love the conflict so â BOOM SHAKA LAKA â bring it on!
Ottodesu over 13 years ago
Maybe the stand is where all the Zeye lookalikes will congregate at the same time ⊠Tiff may even win a prize, she does âGoddessâ very imperiously, as would be expected from someone who totally lacks empathy.
RBLawyer over 13 years ago
Maybe Elwood sues Tiff for copyright infringment and damage to his intellictual property.
