    Bosses? Aside from signing a check every two weeks, why do they exist?

    Hair is weird. If nobody had it, would we miss it? Hair is a parasite. It seems to attach itself more to some people than others. We cut it, trim it, puck it, wax it, lase it, depilate it, and shave it. Does that stop it? Does it sprout where want it? And what’s with the colors? Yeah, Hair is weird.

    I want to know about these ‘heads with tails’ that Number 6 mentioned. That sounds pretty weird.

    I ALMOST said hair is weird the other day when Toby first said rain is weird!!! Now I’m totally wishing I’d followed through!!! But I’d already said a lot that day and didn’t want to be a comment hog. Oh well. I’ll get the jump on a different arc on a different day I guess…

    You want weird? Is there anything weirder than your tongue? Especially the underside.

    While it’s the 9th in my list (ALPHABETICAL FOLK!) it’s up there in my top 3 favourites with Lynn Johnson’s For Better or For Worse and Jim Davis’ Garfield … these three are tied #1, followed by Tom Batiuk & Chuck Ayers Crankshaft in the number 2 spot, and Jeph Jacques’ webcomic Questionable Content.

    I want to hear more about those heads with tails, number6. And I had the same thoughts about hair once, but this was back in the days of alternate consciousness and substances that induced them.

    Herge’s definitely going to have to look into putting together a website. We can drive all his initial traffic from here, then it’s all fame and fortune, baby!

    Number 6 is channeling Herge, I reckon. And Ulan is right, that was one of the best C&H cartoons… ‘cause verbing DOES weird language. For instance, when the heck did ’gaming’ become a verb? “Guys! Come to dinner!” “Dad, we’re gaming!”

    We use acromyns and abbreviations at work. A lot. Just add ing on to a 3 letter abbreviation and new verb. Add `s with the abbreviation and you change the whole sentence.

    One of the joys of English is its flexibility. I once saw two Brazilian co-workers get excited when I referred to submitting a software bug report as “UCF-ing” a problem. They can’t do that in Portuguese.

    As for the use of nouns as verbs and vice versa, without that ability we could neither walk the walk nor talk the talk.

    @pschearerI know this is a year late, but I just found this strip. I don’t have nails on either of my great (big) toes, and they still hold their shape fine.

    @Greg CravensLove the strip!!!
