Round Two with B-B Eyes begins, after that soft-on-criminals Judge Hawkins cut him loose on the cheap! I’m glad Tracy had “no comment” for Wendy (not related to Walter Winchell) Wichel. And I hope Ms. Steffihawk is not related to Hawkins…. Panda and Mr. Crime will just make this round more interesting.
B-B had low bail… even with the attempted murder of Honeymoon? I smell a rat. Good to see Wichel again, but better to see the Mr. Crime angle get fleshed out a bit more. This is getting better day-by-day.
Noticed the “Colin Pitchfork” name in CRIMESTOPPERS. Just further proof that truth is stranger than fiction. Well … most of the time … guess that name does sound like a Dick Tracy character.
“Try not to attract Dick Tracy’s attention this time”? Methinks it’s a ittle too late for that. After BB Eyes tried to kill Tracy’s grandkid, I suspect a full TSA grope-n-scan is going to seem like “no attention” compared to the scrutiny BB’s gonna get. Which means that either (a) Mr. Crime is an idiot, or (b) Mr. Crime’s got a plan to go after Tracy, and BB Eyes is just the bait. .Dang! It’s fun to try and figure out where Mike and Joe are going to take the story next!
WHEREVER Mike & Joe take it, you can bet your bippy that it won’t be La-La Land like Locher did time after time. Excellent mixture of realism and classic DT, ala Gould-ism.
In the Crimestoppers Textbook, the DNA diagram is perfect! Kudos to whoever’s responsible for the art in that one today. So many artists get it wrong and don’t care. Well done!
I suspect there is much more to the Bootleg DVD scam than just Bootleg DVDs! Just like there was more to the Biscuit flour in Flaky Biscuit’s flour sacks!
WOW! I love this strip!A few days ago, I commented that I was sure the B-B Eyes story wasn’t over. Then I read the next few strips, and was sure I was wrong. Now I see I was right, after all! But I never thought B-B Eyes would be tied into Mr. Crime! And a crooked judge! You guys keep me guessing every day!And the art is fantastic! The ‘mirror’ layout of panels 4 and 5, with a scowling Pat and Dick, with a coffee mug compared to a smiling B-B Eyes and Panda, and the tall, cool drink is great. Boo-yah, Joe, Shelley and Shane!
Great job again Mike and Joe and Shelley and Shane, makes my Sunday that much better! I thought maybe B.B. was so nonchalant about being arrested b/c he had some hidden plan, but his dialog with Panda suggests otherwise… oh, well- this is turning into a hell of a continuing story, love how it ties in, and so glad to see another familiar name from the past, Wendy Wichel!
Has anyone heard from Mattie lately? There’s no way he’d disappear. I’d love to hear his take on the new DT (since he ranted and raved that the old DT was so “genius-like”.
great stuff — it’s hard to believe how far DT has come in a few short months. a total reversal and revival of a classic to what is becoming a modern day classic. thank you
Guys — I have been very critical of the short length stories, but this new, clever, way of continuing the story makes me feel like a jerk. Pease forgive. And please keep doing what you are doing! I love the narrative complexity here! I’m telling anyone I can find to read the new Dick Tracy now!!

It’s an interesting way to work around TMS’s length limitation.

Nicely Done! Keeping the BB Eyes story going and tying in the Panda/ Mr. Crime glimpses we’ve been getting. Now, that’s a way to tell a story!

Sunday’ editions shows us the real court of justice of today.Somehow I think the judge is in with Mr. Crimes organization.
I like how the team made us feel that was the end of the story.
But BB Eyes is still out there with a new gang.
The suspense continues as to what is going to happen next.

Unless he’s an offspring, I hope "Mr. Crime has a lot of deodorant, might be kinda gamey, dead 50+ years and all.
