Getting a tiny hyperactive puppy last week gives us another reason to bless the Zero Population Growth movement that caused us to have surgery in the 70s.

@Dogsniff,If you tried so hard to avoid plays-on-words, you’re having ‘withdrawal’ symptoms! But it was one of your best, so carry on!

I haven’t had sugary cereal since I was a kid, but I have so many fond memories of getting up early on Saturday-the one morning I didn’t want to sleep in- and watch cartoons in my pajamas while eating stuff like frosted flakes.

Is it healthy? No, I’ve always been healthy and no weight problems, and I’ve got those comforting, happy memories. I’ll take that over being raised as a dull eyed herbivore!

And there are many more who will give them what they want just to shut them up. My god-son refused to eat anything healthy.

I still eat sweet cereals once in a while…I’ll get a craving and buy me some cinnamon toast crunch or something like that….brings back memories!

I loved the Saturday morning cartoons, like Beanie and Cecil, Rocky and Bullwinkle and Top Cat.

But will we be Calvin-less if Moe gets enough brain cells together to finally total our hero?

Watching the Coyote and Roadrunner (the Chuck Jones/Michael Maltese cartoons, not the crappy Rudy Larriva ones) on Saturday mornings was the only real bonding my father and I had. I wish I could have used Calvin’s method to prevent my sister, but, alas, she was older than me. I would have had to trust the justice system not to prosecute a 5-year-old for murder.

That’s the I’ve done it for the last 56 years, it’s a proven system

Saturday morning was a special time when I was a kid.

I believe this is the first and only mention of “Crunchy Sugar Bombs” as opposed to “Chocolate Frosted Sugar Bombs”

And I agree with Mark… it’s a comic strip. It’s satire. Let’s relax and just enjoy it.

Saturday morning cartoons, Frosted Flakes with Tony the Tiger, reading the Ralston Press on the Chex cereal boxes (anybody remember the Ralston Press?) Anyway, good times, good times!

Yes no brothers and sisters ,that clears that up.

“Crunchy Sugar Bombs” and “Chocolate Frosted Sugar Bombs” for breakfast . . . it’s no wonder why Calvin’s always bouncing off the walls and ceilings and constantly getting into trouble at home and school. I wouldn’t be able to sit still and pay attention either if I had that much sugar running through my body all the time!

Every now and then..I wish I’d have thought of that ! hehe

Never was a big fan of sugar cereals, and I could not drink the milk left in the bowl after any cereal, but I loved Looney Toons! I’d still watch them today if they were on TV. (Don’t have cable.)

They weren’t sweet enough for me back then. If I eat any now it’ll be Special K or Honey Nut Cheerios.
