Is that a RADIO FLYER red wagon? My younger brother had one of those! Many memories of squabbling over whose turn it was to push or ride. Excellent for pulling small boulder sized rocks around the yard too.
Calvin is up a tree, trying to figure out what happened, but he’s enjoying “The View”, anyway. When Calvin branches out into new endeavors, you never know what might turn up. It’s such a ‘novel’ experience, someone could write a book about it.
Writing a book about it might be a slight exaggeration, but surely there will be a ‘play’-on-words.When the fire department shows up, tongues will be ‘waggin’.
I remember when I was a kid, the only hill nearb yto slide on was in the middle of an arboretum, allowed to go wild. There were trees all over and one narrow path to slide on. The problem? If you went straight all the way there was a tree in the middle of the path at the bottom. If you veered left you would go off into the middle of a busy street The right side was just a forest of trees. One had to jump off the sled before the end or you would hit the tree head on. I thought it was great fun. Once in a while after a really big snow storm, they would close our street and we could slide unencmebered bycars but there was no adrenaline rush. It wasn’t nearly as much fun as having the tree in way.
When they aren’t up a tree or busy flying through the air, Calvin and Hobbes sometimes sit under their favorite tree. Take a look at yesterday’s Red and Rover, which was excellent, perhaps inspired by Calvin and Hobbes:Red and RoverHere’s a Calvin and Hobbes example:Calvin and Hobbes
Yes I do, if he is unable to get down himself. Calvin’s parents love him, as evidenced in many strips throughout the series. It’s just that since this is a comic strip, it is the more humorous, aggravating behavior exhibited by Calvin, and his parents’ responses to such behavior, that is shown more frequently. As stated by Calvin’s dad, “We all know how funny good role models are” http://www.gocomics.com/calvinandhobbes/1995/02/23

That must have been one heck of a really high hill they took a flying nose-dive off of! Thankfully Calvin’s not injured but unfortunately, they’re both now up a tree without a parachute . . . or, at the very least a ladder. I’m sure it’ll be great fun for Calvin when the fire department has to come get him down but I highly doubt his parents will feel the same way! I’d absolutely love to see Mom and Dad presented with a bill from the f.d. for this rescue if only to teach them a lesson that their son is only 6 years old and they should be more aware of where he is and what he’s doing at all times!

All these clever comments ‘leave’ me ‘in stitches’, which is where Calvin would end up if this were real life.
