I’m pretty sure Joe Staton was once an understudy of Gil Kane, who used to put his own name (as a signature) and shout-outs in his art in much the same way.

Hmm. Maybe Gloria’s going to give Tellum the bodies, along with a story about how they tried to force her to give them the nitrate. Tellum makes her a hero on his show (with a rant about heroic vigilantes, and those incompetents on the police force).And this makes it harder for Dick and Lizz to get a search warrant!
I think Tellum’s only way out of this (in one piece) is if he puts together “been talking about terror bombers” with “unmarked van in my parking space.”
I don’t think Tellum is that sharp first thing in the morning from what appears in this strip, Bill Thompson.
I think massive explosion….the two fools in the van will be blamed as the bombers for killing Tellum and the case will be closed and Gloria in the clear – for now.
