Is it an interview or a monologue? I thought we’d get to see Gil saying, “Where do you see yourself in five years? Why do you want to coach HERE? What are your weaknesses?” Or at the very least, “Tell me about yourself.”
This is the story line we waited through an alcoholic mom, anger management challenged teen and Molly’s Tin C-Cup adventures for?
Despite the fact we may actually get to see some practice (never mind a real football game) soon, it keeps getting harder and harder to stay with the Gilfather and his steroid abusing sidekick. If it wasn’t for the loyal cadre of critics on these pages, I believe most of us would have given up long ago.
In a group interview, how often do you have one interviewer stand or sit in front of the candidate and have another one stand or sit behind him like the Gilmeister and Kazaam are doing in P1? Probable not very often. The monk should not be subjected to this unusual treatment.

At least the standard question, “Tell me what you don’t like about yourself.” P1: Double D is working on a healthy bald spot.

In panel #1 is Gil copping a feel on Deke?

To his credit, he came prepared. He didn’t rely on his all-state connection to get the job.

Whatever you do, Gil, don’t go to this guy’s barber and say, “Just take a little off the top.”

Why didn’t Thorp ask him about his obvious gang tattoo on his right hand “YYY I”. Does he really want a guy like that around kids?

Doesn’t know when to shut up.

Nice bald spot, Deke.
Ever notice how bald or balding men are usually bad characters in this strip?

Either that’s a bald patch or he used to be a monk.

Wildcat wants Gil out. This guy is a plant! Read it and weep.
