That one guy from UOA was wearing a Hugo Boss suit just like Boyd’s. They don’t mind taking a huge salary. Would have liked to have seen Annie take at least half of the Mil.

Don’t worry, I do like doctors, and one reason I am not one myself is that I don’t think they get paid for what it is worth. The other reason was my grades.

I’m going to add nurse’s aides for people not being paid enough. Especially now that my father has been in a hospital and nursing home. These men and women have to do a lot of stuff that none of us would be comfortable doing. In my opinion, they should make more than doctors!

Oh boy, a labor discussion! Will the mechanics of supply-and-demand be included? @sassy1 – I’m sorry this makes me sound like a d*ck but your comment was meaningless; pro athletes don’t get paid from any public sources. They get paid large salaries because the team owners feel they can make more money with them on the team or retailers feel they can make more $$$ using these athletes to endorse their products/services.

Nicky, your suggestion would work if the teachers weren’t paid thru taxes. Nobody in this economy is going to vote in new taxes.

StoicLion: Plus the fact that most athletes have a career life of single-digit years, and few other work skills.

Lila’s thinking here reflects poorly on her reputation for analysis. By accepting the million she can control where it is donated rather than leaving it with America United, there being no law requiring that she keep it for herself.

I usually do not comment on this strip. I agree with most of you. Teachers are underpaid. JWF my mom had a surgery suppose to be in and out patient the next day. She is 86 this procedure to be done 30 years ago according to doctor. She just did not get medically tested. Myself am waiting when that time comes for me. She had to go to ICU for 2nd grade illness then recoved thanks to fast medical work back to women’s area then to a Skilled Nursing for Speedy Recovery and home.I do agree with you JWF the workers that do harder jobs of handling patients do not get paid near enough. Same with teachers they try to get their lessons done and kids get bored and cause trouble. Here in KS school is working with children with on-line school work.

It’s not that we don’t honor teachers, it’s just the states don’t have enough to pay them a decent salary.

Annie should have retained ownership of her intellectual property, licensed it to the charity for $1 per year, and collected a nominal royalty off the income generated by the charity from the app.

    Ethical and Moral.

Glad your mama is doing better, Kab. Don’t even get me started about the medical establishment! Time for corn on the cob ;-)

American doctors are overpaid quacks. The reason Medicare is going bankrupt is because American doctors are overpaid quacks. The incompetence of American doctors directly led to both my parents dying miserable, painful deaths.

However, I agree that American nurses and nurse aides are phenomenal. They work long hours and focus on the patient as individual, not as a “case”. They do the lion’s share of actual medical care in the US.Fire half of the overpaid, self-glorifying doctors and hire hordes of nurses instead.

Wolf Emperor: They would if they taxed corporations at the same rate they do homeowners instead of bribing polluters to move to their state.
