Why do three generations of my family shudder when I pick up a screwdriver?

@Lewreader: When I worked on a kibbutz in the 60;s I was given a screwdriver and began using it to unscrew a screw. Someone told me I was using it the wrong way. He said, “Some people have a knack for being a mechanic, but yoou don’t.” I went through 20 years believing I was a bad mechanic until I found that European screw drivers turn the opposite way than American screw drivers.

Are we talking about left-handed monkey wrenches and such? I’ve been a computer tech as well as dealt with many DIY home maintenance and improvement tasks, and I can assure you that in the land of kibbutzim screwdrivers turn the same way as in the US; you know, righty-tighty and lefty-loosey.

I wonder if Jason ever met Tim Taylor from Tool Time. You know… “More power!”

I bet that the therapist that Miss O’Malley goes to every year is VERY rich by now thanks to all the chaos that Jason comes up with for his teacher to deal with.

Ah yes, the old Bell&Howell (Thurston?) Projecter, the old school house standby. I wouldn’t be surprized to learn that the old projecters are still being used at my old high school..\\//_

Kind of reminds me of the two men building a house.

One man was tossing half the nails away. The other asked him why. He said that the heads were on the wrong side.

The second man said, "You idoit. Those are for the other side of the house!

Better not break it, boys — no one has made one of those antiques in decades!

My school used digital projectors or CRT TVs with DVD/VCR combos. They let us bring in what we like as long as it was PG or under (PG13 had to be prescreened by teachers for content).
