@Baslim the begger, @ ne7minder55:==“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.” 1 Jn 4:1, NKJV==I’ve run into good evangelists, and bad ones. After a while, it becomes evident which ones have the work of God at heart, and which ones are only thinking about your pocketbook.
But none of them will try feeding 5000 people using five loaves and two fishes taken from a small boy, because that would be redistribution of wealth and tantamount to endorsing socialism.
Yeah, the same credit agencies that downgrade U.S. debt are the ones who said mortgage-backed derivatives are AAA? I’m looking forward to seeing what the investigation into Moody and S&P’s practices turn up, as if it will make a significant change. And who wants to listen to a credit rating agency that means Average & Broke? But if you want to have a real good feeling, google Occupy Wall Street.
In Democracy in America, Alexis de Tocqueville wrote that the separation of Church and State actually makes the Church stronger, as it appears to be a rock unmoved by constantly shifting political tides. Maybe the people who keep trying to replace the Constitution with the Holy Book of their choice should think about that.

Exxon becoming a religion? Why not? It worked for L. Ron Hubbard.
cdward: By now you’ve probably learned at least to pronounce Ayn Rand’s name correctly. What else to you pretend to know about her and her thought?

We recent converts to the Church of Danae have no use for the Church of Exxon.
