Before the protesting incendiary comments start rolling, let me clarify my stance. I believe political parties are a complete waste of time, because a party is just a name that so many people blindly follow without understanding what it is that they claim to believe. So, instead people ought to align themselves to a set of solid political ideals. People need to think for themselves instead of following and voting for vague leaders who tell them what they believe. And I’m not citing any right-wing rhetoric, I’m saying what I observe. If he couldn’t fulfil the promises he made, then he’s a liar and should not have made them in the first place. Debt’s gone ridiculously far up, and a huge part is the health-care bill. But nobody knows what’s in the bill, because we have to “Pass it to see what it says” (Pelosi). But Obama will never take credit for the negative. He’ll go on vacation when he doesn’t like all the anger, but he won’t take any blame. The buck stops anywhere except at his desk.
In 2008, I was an enthusiastic Obama voter. In 2012, I’ll be a hold-your-nose Obama voter. I’m disappointed with him, but I can’t possibly vote for any of his opponents.
The inability of the GOP to offer a candidate who doesn’t write with a crayon highlights the need for a viable third party in US politics. Or maybe even dump the parties completely, and go to direct elections.
…#$% ..I just wrote a blazing commentary on the positive things Obama has done to improve and to literally save this country(bailling out the banks),how he saved thousands uopn thousands of jobs(bailling out the auto industry)etc,etc etc,all the way to repealling DADT.the quite leader,dignified amoungst the ignorant yelling hoards..but ,now it's gone ..#$% crap…

We seem incapable of polite political discourse, and I’m talking as a whole, not on this site. I had been registered as a Republican since before Reagan ran, but I quickly became disillusioned by their big business, trickle-down, and “compassionate conservative” rhetoric. I stayed registered with them in order to vote against incumbents in primary elections. When I moved out of state and re-registered, I wasn’t going to continue affiliated with the GOP, and I did not register Democratic because of their feckless defense of Kerry against the Swift Boaters, at least he honorably served his enlistment as compared to Dubya. I was not an enthusiastic supporter of Obama in 2008, but I’m still convinced that we’re better off than what the train wreck of McCain/Palin would have been. And unless a lightning bolt happens at a debate and realigns all of the GOP wannabees’ brains into something corresponding with reality, I’ll reluctantly vote for Obama again.
Romney’s a RINO, Perry isn’t living up to the hype, so it looks like the Tea Parties are settling on Cain at the moment and the MSM is freaking out at that prospect. To top it off, Allen West signaled his interest in becoming the vice presidential candidate. This could get very interesting.
