I think they call this preventive deterrence for show in the military world. Doesn’t work very well there either.

I’ve always been amused that people think Rosalyn knows how to handle him. “Lock the kid in his room at 6PM” is hardly “handling him”. She eventually learns how to, culminating in her playing Calvinball (and using it against him) but the earlier story arcs were just kinda mean… not that he he didn’t totally have it coming, but she just yaks on the phone instead of watching him… she’s as bad as he is!I always wondered if her boyfriend was a long-distance call.

The opening salvo has begun.

Calvin: “Hi Roz, I’ve missed you.”Hobbs: “You need to practice more, your aim is way off!”

I never had a baby sister. Roslyn won’t take anything off of Calvin.

I know this strip has ended, but I would have love for a scene with Calvin graduating from HS and Rosalyn in line congratulating him. By then he would have apologized.

The ape from the Tarzan movies who just died was named Cheetah. “Bonzo” was a chimp who arguably played the lead in the old Ronald Reagan “B” movie titled “Bedtime for Bonzo”. So, Sniff and Johnny D, Ron was not Bonzo. Bozo’s another story, but that doesn’t belong here.

I GOTTA get me a dart gun like Calvin’s. My darts never stuck to anything that wasn’t perfectly smooth. Heaven help Rosalyn if anyone ever makes an automatic dart gun.

Ha—I’ve always loved the phrase “Bedtime for Bonzo”. It’s a classic in my family..And, I wonder if Rosalyn voluntarily returns to take care of Calvin, knowing how … interesting … things get with him … ?
