Watching my toenails grow beats the @*&!% out of “Terra Nova.” What does that prove?

I’m trying hard to like Terra Nova. I’m trying very hard. I’m even willing to let them get into a second season, sometimes these things take time to work out. But not sure if I really need to watch another TV series with sullen teenagers. Got over that about thirty-five years ago last week. If they can swing it more towards Julian May’s books, that may be good. And more sex.

terra nova is on fox, not nbc.

Yeah. Instead of something good like Kitchen Nightmares to lead in to House we have this Terra Nova (not even worthy of bolding).

If they tell you it’s reality then it isn’t even close.

I guess I’m in the minority, but I’m kind of liking Terra Nova. And the more Jason O’Mara removes his shirt, the more I’m liking it! :)

Do we say “doctress” if the surgeon is female? The job is the job, regardless of who’s doing it (although “members of the acting profession” rarely compete with those of the opposite gender for the same roles).

Acknowledging the sexual bias in the English language is valid. It’s entrenched and longstanding and the fact that it will be difficult to shift doesn’t mean it isn’t worthwhile to try. But getting your knickers in a twist (and I acknowledge the sexism of that idiom) either way is oversensitivity.

Besides, in show biz they often refer to the performers (and performresses?) as “the Talent”, and in many cases that’s a FAR MORE egregious misapplication of a word…

Sometimes it doesn’t matter the sex (gender (?)) of the actor and the neuter form works … She’s a great actor! But the help wanted ad works better as Actress needed versus female actor needed.

Like zombie leaves, what’s the use of starting a whole new world if you only end up making the same mistakes, and dinosaurs may be the most ethical species? (terra-same-o"

Drop the Terra, just watch Nova on PBS.

I had hopes, but it’s just another soap. Gave up after the premier.Tune in next time to find out what’s going on. What’s going on is they’re getting people to watch ads next time, too.I heard a talk radio host (Leykis?) be honest about it once; “My job is to hold your attention between commercials.”

Go to “In the Sticks” they have a solution that just MIGHT work!!

Time to dust off the V-8 powered leaf shredder in the garage…
