I have doubts about a romance. TJ is too good a friend to Brad. Like how he’s never really hit on Toni. He’s kidded about it, and flirted in a way everyone knew he wasn’t serious. But he’s never REALLY flirted or tried to go out with Toni. So along the same lines, I don’t think he’d risk infuriating Brad by hooking up with Eiffel. He’s a schemer, but like someone else said in a past discussion, he has only the best intentions when it comes to Brad.

I can’t tell if Eiffel’s expression in the last panel is sarcastic, or hopeful.

Say what you will about TJ, but he is creative and can make delicious food. He may just be such a hit that he’ll run WW.

If WW is like the typical franchise, all the food is purchased from the franchise and prepared the same way at every location. Does his weenie have special sauce?

Perhaps his talents will be recognized and he’ll be sent to teach others his culinary techniques at the WW world headquarters in Lost Springs, Wyoming.

Problem is that with most fast food places, tinkering with the “recipes” is a No-No. If this were real life, TJ would not get the chance to display his culinary expertise in a place like WeenieWorld. But alas, this is just a comic strip ………

With his charm, TJ might actually succeed at doubling sales. My late father-in-law was a super salesmen. After retirement he worked part time at a shoe store and outsold the fulltimers. A woman would bring in a dress looking for shoes to match and would walk out with three pairs of shoes, a belt and new handbag to match. If TJ can do the “add on” sales such as fancy drinks or desserts, he might really increase sales dramatically. Ya just never know.

Fact is, why’s Ann so awful? She’s like a spoiled child, who’s never known anyone whom she couldn’t manipulate. If she met someone she couldn’t cow, she might stop being such a _____. She’s not exactly glowering at TJ in the last panel.

I hope everything works out to the best for both of them.

I’m not sure she has the power of signature for the company. Not beyond employment papers. And if he is actually planning to increase sales, legally, that can only make Ann look better. Hiring a bunch of sub-human part-time teenagers certainly isn’t going to push you up the corporate ladder.

Just noticed with the exception of dark hair, Toni Daytona and Ann Eiffel are drawn almost the same.

Has anyone else ever noticed in panel 3 that Ann looks like Toni – in face, eyes, lips, smile and form – except for her hair color and length?

My thinking also. You can measure sales by weenies sold or in dollar terms. And you can double either by running at a loss.

Mr. Evans has some of the greatest story lines found in the funny papers.

He’s a twit. EVERYONE working these places dumps trash and does toilets. It’s part of the job description. Running errands? That’s a different matter.

I don’t know how creative a cook someone working fast food can be. I’m pretty sure that Corporate has some standard menu, standard rules on how the food is to be cooked, standard rules on shelf-life, etc.

This is like a chess match of idiots.

Ann has always picked on victims she perceives as vulnerable before. (Brad was desperate for a job, Bernice was a naive teenager at her first job, Zane was handicapped.) TJ took the job only to “get” her, he is not only a manipulator, but has few weaknesses she can exploit….there are many ways to double sales, not profits. Why not issue $.05 coupons to all the homeless? Plus free drinks??

This is definitely going to be fun.:Sure, manipulators pair up with the weak, and the relationship is one of dominator/subordinate, cat and mouse. But they also, from time to time, pair up with each other in a match of wits. They each thrive on this.:Ann definitely likes what she sees. And I think, far from messing with her mind a bit and leaving, TJ is going to be around Ann for the long haul.:As Humphrey Bogart once said (in Casablanca), “I think this is the beginning of a beautiful relationship”.

TJ totally can afford to “push it”. We already know he doesn’t need the money, and that allows the freedom to say “I won’t do such and such”. Unlike people who DO need that money, and bow and scrape and overall do what they’re told to keep their job

Yeah, early this morning I logged on and said, “Buy one – get one FREE” with the idea you stated about sales not profits. Not being in sales, I don’t fully understand why this works, but a lot of places do it, so I assume this bargain is a doorbuster to get people in the store so they will buy more pricey items and the sales AND profits go up. I’d find it interesting to hear from somebody “in the know” as to how that works. If it works, I’d be surprised that the manager is not already selling 2-fers.

All I have to say about this entire series, ever since TJ came back into the picture, is that we all need a friend like TJ.

To those who insist on injecting reality into a comic strip (legal this, corporate that) it doesn’t work. Remember that comic strip, For Better or Worse ( I think it was. ) The old dog saved the kid from the water, then crawled up on dry land and died. Only a comic strip, you say, but it bothered me, and to this day, I never read it. I want to see Gunther caught with his pants down, or Tiffany endlessly putting on makeup and looking in the mirror. I don’t want to see Puddles develop kidney failure, waste away, and then be euthanized.

I really hope Ann totally falls for TJ!! Then he can get her to Sexually harass him and BAM. GOT HER!!!

I suspect TJ will get burned for his scheme; Ms. Eiffel has played the game too long to be outfoxed. But, if his plan is simply to give her back some of her own manipulation, that could very well work.
