Ol’ Burl sure knows how to get his message delivered. Although he might want to reconsider his opposition to the tax supporting the County EMS and the Hospital District’s Trauma Center. I don’t know, I just have a feeling he may have use for them in the near future!

Good Morning, Marg and Leaky, and now Mikie and Grog (I just refreshed the page) …….

and the rest of you lazy Crustwoodians still in bed while Burl and Joy defend the world from taxes.

Dunno whether their opposition this time is justified, but you can bet they’re against it if it’ll cost them a dollar fifty.

I’m sure they always vote against bonds for street improvements and then call city hall every time they see a tiny pothole.

But yup, if they don’t get those honkin’ butts out of the street, they’ll need the hospital very soon —

where they’ll complain .about the food, the decor, and the TV sets.

Which reminds me… they sure ask a lot of a $3.99 chair, don’t they.

Also…. just another example of their petty jealousy….

The car is past both houses when it honks, but of course, they just know it was for the other people….. cos the poor Pennys never get their fair share.

That’s why they have to station themselves in the limelight.

LOL@Grog, in spite of the fierce struggle with my better nature.

You wouldn’t get many points for such easy targets though.

Hi Mikie — yeah, the most prominent feature of the Penny psyche is its refusal to mature beyond about kindergarten level.

They hog the toys, won’t share their graham crackers, and don’t play well with others.

And I meant to thank MochaJane from yesterday. You were right. Silly me.

    Good Morning, Susan

That is true, but it may be fun watching them move faster than they ever moved as they realize I’m not stopping.

The saga of The Dinette Set continues… We get the color back and larger daily panels. Now, it’s Sunday and no magnifier! How does this stuff happen?? Frustrating.I’ve decided I’m not paying for the “pro” membership until GoComics gets its act together. That’s not going very fast.

Dear friends, a favour, if you will. We are entering into what promises to be a very intense—dare I say, nasty?—political season. I particularly enjoy DS early in the am, and sometimes much earlier, with my coffee. I love to see JL skewer bothe the Pennys and us. I enjoy seeing the comments of my friends. (That includes you, Susan and Leaky.) The favour is to eschew political comments and references. Please.

I agree, let’s skip politics. You can go to Non-Sequitur or Doonesbury for that. Wow, this is a new level of stupidity for the Pennys. And it won’t even help the gene pool as they already had Patty (who seems to have escaped unscathed).

We knew the Pennys are Republicans they said as much and their daughter is a Democrat. I doubt the was a political point to the gag.Just that the Pennys will block traffic to get attention. I hope they don’t have some kid with a fast car in the neighborhood.

Of course they weren’t getting any honks — their poorly-lettered sign probably had the motorists wondering what “NEWT TAXES” are.

There seem to be TWO $‘s — the other is under the sandwich board next to the back legs of Burl’s chair in panel 1.

I expected to see the happy face and dollar sign together , but they’re not.

@GymShoe-thanks (my best short summary) and I am lazy and very late catching up today. Made clam chowder this AM before my workout and had breakfast about 1PM and supper about 5 after reading outside when sun was out (a few more chapters of Cien Anos de Soledad). I agree with all to keep politics out of cartoons because I have very strong views.
