love the smile of the black haired girl, looks like this week Lue will be foolish, and think the worse, even thought Quill will be wishing through the whole plane trip that Luann was one sitting at his side……….. both Lue amd Quill want to become an item, but at same time are afraid to actually do it

I don’t post much, but I have to post that I would like to smack Luann. She is being very stupid about Quill, and not even in a normal teenage girl fashion. She’d rather see him with someone else rather than have him herself? Because she might get hurt when he leaves? And this feels good??

I love it that the kids have similar sentiments to me in calling Luann on her “we’re not dating” bull.

Kids say the darnedest things! So direct, blunt, unfettered by societal norms. I agree that this reading circle of kids looks like junior editions of the strip leads—especially “Little Tiff”!

Ask any elementary teacher about the questions they get from little kids…..it’s amazing how much they know. (and want to know!) Adults can be surprisingly vulnerable in a room full of them………………

You’re not sure what “Boyfriend” means? Finally, you are forced to face the flaw of your master plan. And a bunch of little kids are making you see the light. Because you have done everything possible to keep Quill from becoming your “boyfriend”, you have to deal with the possibility that something better may come along – for him.

Luann – the career you are best suited for is home maker. Step one of securing that position is attracting a mate. You attract, and then you seem lost as to how to proceed. Lu should listen to the kids. Kids always ask a question, people say it’s complicated, but the kids don’t see it as a business matter they see it simpler… like… um I got no synonym for that. Quill like Lu and Lu feels the same way, they know how they feel but choose to ignore it because Quill could go back… but when Quill goes back, they’ll miss each other and will regret that they didn’t date at all. Don’t miss the opportunities and signs Lu.

Ouch!! – “Kids Say The Darndest Things” – Art Linkletter 1959. Like others said, kids will get to the heart of the matter right away – partly because they want confirmation of what they’ve heard, and partly to look smart. They are developing self-esteem and Luann is questioning hers. Luann knows what “boyfriend” means, but after the Aaron Hill infatuation, she’s hesitant to have her heart broken with a Quill relationship..I guess she needs to adopt the “Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.” credo. Unless times have changed more than I think, Greg is still right on with a lot of high school relationships – even in this day and age. Both girls and boys still have a problem with self-esteem and it’s a continuous trial and error situation. Hey, I’m still having misunderstandings with my wife after a half century of marriage!

What might be fun would be that Luann gets a tweet from both Tiff and Quill. The messages would make it seem like they are having the time of their lives. But Luann reads too much into the tweets not realizing that Tiff is in a sound set building at Warner Bros. and he is on Catalina Island.

Get a ticket Lu…. fly to LA….

Who said, “Pretty is how you’re born, beauty is what you do with it.”? Luann and Bernice are un- enhanced. For some that works………if you’re under 15 years old, or in a lab class at 10 in the morning.

We had a santa in the news this morning in a “shop with a cop” thing – he arrived in the police helicopter wearing a suit of blue trimmed with white faux fur (very neat)!

@…, Tiff (if indeed she IS in the movie) will still be a nonentity and not in the realm of any stars. Besides, she mostly wants Quill because she knows Luann wants him!

Kids under ten say what people over ten want to say but don’t. Or they say what grown-ups are thinking but would rarely say. It’s very revealing; I made a personal decision to treat my facial rosacea for this reason: A ten year old asked me why my face is always so red. I concluded that ten other people were thinking that, and it was time to do something about it.

I’ve been reading through some of the comments posted here. And I’ve noticed that a few people mentioned that the little blond headed girl in the first panel looked a lot like Tiffany. Which is definitely true. But did anybody notice the dark haired girl sitting to her left in the same panel? she looks an awful lot like Crystal imho…
