The true meaning of the American way has been lost in German meat patties and processed cheese and an annoying, controlling businessman named Steve Jobs.
The Android will always rule and sushi will always taste better than any American snack.
Lila nails it though. Most of the elites get that way because they know someone or several someones. Or better yet, because they are related to someone influential.
duh. favoritism is the human way. It starts when we are born. Lots of parents have “favorite children”. Who doesn’t remember a “Teacher’s pet”? Lila is just being incredibly mature when she doesn’t use her status as “Boss’s favorite” to override Drew. Every boss has a “favorite” – it’s human nature. I LOVE that Lila calls it “The American way”.
The problem is that people get promoted and forget where they came from. All of a sudden they start stepping on the people they used to be friends with. I guess it’s like the Ferengi say, “Employees are the rungs on the ladder of success. Don’t hesitate to step on them.”
