It would seem John’s heart was in the right place. That’s the important thing to look at. And yes, True Blue Buffalo Bills you are right, has the trash been picked up yet?
Wow, everyone is jumping to conclusions. She doesn’t look mad at all, just thinking about what exactly has been thrown out and what can be done about it. No biggie… it’s only clothes.
My x-husband did this once but we lived in the country and he was burning the trash. He picked up a black trash bag that HE had filled with his military uniform and such and threw it in the burn barrell. He had to replace all those uniforms and coats and such and Military uniforms are NOT cheap. Last time he put them in a trash bag……lol
Yeah, they are both saying “oops” but those things happen.
Kids’ clothes- the big garbage bags are really the only good way to sort them- well, a box or bin can work too, but they also get thrown out, and they aren’t all so waterproof or easy to store. Even my husband uses garbage bags for clothes.
As one who takes out the garbage and takes things to Goodwill, etc., if there are any items of clothing or any shoes in a bag I ALWAYS ask my wife to identify what’s in the bag and where it should be going.
Hopefully the garbage trucks haven’t been by to pick up the trash yet! But even if the clothes are gone, it’s doubtful they would have fit anymore anyhow. Kids this age (especially Lizzie) grow like weeds and what fit last week might not fit this week so the chances of last summer’s clothes still fitting this summer is pretty much nil.
Something very similar happened to my cousin this last Christmas. She went home for the holidays with her dirty laundry (most of it new clothes) in a black garbage bag, and set it by the washer which is just inside the back door. Next morning, her dad took the trash out and burned it. I think he felt worse than she did – several days later he still hadn’t forgiven himself (hopefully he has by now).

Good boy John, took the trash out without even being asked. Now you will pay for that.

He can’t be blamed; this was years before Toy Story 3 taught us better.

This will teach John a lesson when Elly asks him for the $500 it will cost to buy the kids new summer clothes to replace the ones he threw out.

I put my clothes that i’m donating in clear recyling bags. I wouldn’t store them in bags though, because they will start to stink in no time.

Ever notice – stuff lies around underfoot for years, and within a week of the time you finally throw it out, a need for it arises!

Now onto Wal-Mart or Target to buy new summer clothes.
