He just the remarks that he and Heart recently said to each other about their feelings and with Valentine’s Day coming up, Dean does not know what to do.

I hope he hasn’t lost someone in his family…

He either forgot to get a Valentine for Heart or he didn’t get a Valentine from Heart. They are soul mates, after all.

My first thought WAS about Whitney, and how synchronicity often shows up in comics.

Tears are rarely a laughing matter for the one shedding them. It remains to be seen if we will smile at the incongruity of what Dean is moved by, or if we will be touched with empathy for the little assemblage of brushstrokes.

I guess we just have to wait and see what is happening here.

Somewhere, Mark Tatulli is reading these comments, and he’s rubbing his hands together and cackling. He’s got us right where he wants us.

If he intended to mess with us, he’s succeeding admirably. If he didn’t, he got himself a little bonus with today’s strip.

it seem to coinside with the release of the new Star Wars release in 3D or HD whatever it is that he feels totally defiles the Star Wars originals…..he would not get this emotional over anything to do with Heart….she will tell him when it is time for him to shed tears for her……

Last week, I made the comment that Dean needed a haircut instead of a toupee. I hope he didn’t take offense.

I suspect it is Star Wars and the incredibly egoistic remarks George Lucas recently made about his right to change Star Wars any way he wants. I’m sorry Mister Lucas, but Star Wars now belongs to the ages of Science Fiction and its fans AND NOT YOU. This whole change Star Wars thing reminds me of the black and white movie colorization that went on about 20 years ago. They ruined many a great B&W movie doing it.

Maybe Dean’s mom and/or dad got a job in another city and they have to move.

I came here to find out what is wrong with Dean….

Monday’s strips almost NEVER have anything to do with Sunday strips. They’re prepared on different schedules, and some papers which run dailies don’t run Sundays (and vice versa). Besides, from yesterday’s strip it appears that asking to be Heart’s Valentine is the LAST thing he’s thinking about.

I have reasons to believe it has nothing to do with Spock, either, but it would take 200 words to make my point (and I still wouldn’t say it’s impossible, just unlikely). I’m thinking a very sick parent, or trouble in the marriage.

I’m getting ready for a Very Special Episode of “Heart of the City”; I think it’s going to get sadder before it gets happier.
