The coy newspaper reporter is back, but now she’s giving high school kids the eye instead of Gil. We’ll have to see if Big Bob Stuff starts singing on the mound like Slim Chance.
She’s not eyeing up the kids, she just can’t look at Kaz’s ridiculous Patrick Swayze style Road House pompadour and side burns without laughing in his face.
kdizzle, you are probably right. That drawing of Kaz always confuses me. Kaz likes to think of himself as Big Bob Stuff. He’s not going to like it when he finds Ottewill is appropriating his fantasy nickname.
Hope he runs into some of the line drive hitters that Charlie Brown used to face. Couple of times picking up his shoes and socks should humble him a tad.
A guy at work has a son who plays HS baseball. I asked my co-worker if kids wore stir-ups when they played. He told me that they don’t. The kids all wear their pants baggy and long, so I guess Big Bob Stuff’s uniform is drawn fairly accurate.
In some ways it has, but there are still strange drawings, like panel 3 today. The only way Bobby could have rays of light slanting across his eyes would be if the bill of his cap had slits in it. I know it’s supposed to indicate a shadow, but it looks more like a mask made out of gauze.

Looks like Big Bob has clown pants on in panel one…could he be entertaining at children’s’ parties to earn some money on the side for tats?

P1: Margie and Kaz, the nephew of Jerry “Snowman” Reed. P3: Hah! The Stuff Family. B.B. Stuff must be related to H.R. Puff-N-Stuff.

Seems like there was a comic strip character name Fat Stuff who kept popping buttons off his shirt. Must be an uncle.

Are those practice pants and really bad spikes that kid is wearing in P2 or did a get a good deal on a discarded HazMat suit?

Anyone else notice the art seems to have gotten better in the last few weeks? Maybe it’s just me…

P2 – Big Bob’s shoes look like the one shoe that Tom Dempsy wore on his stump back in the 60’s kicking for the Saints.
