There was a man in Pennsylvania who sued the Devil for ruining his life. The Judge dismissed the case since the defendant was not a resident of the State of Pennsylvania.

Kali39, I remember reading the judge’s opinion there when I was in law school. Among other observations, the judge noted that the plaintiff had failed to give the marshal instructions as to how to obtain service of process.

Dogsniff, Sue Susan?..I don’t think so…….Ashburn, yes Baslim made me laugh right out of the chute! Anyway, I suppose there are pencils in Pennsylvania and Kens in Kentucky, (anatomically correct, I’m sure..), but I’m not sure how many virgins there are in Virginia……Used to be plenty of Massas, though…

Must be something about Apples and lawsuits, thinking of the long running series of lawsuits between Steve Jobs (Apple Inc) and the Beatles (Apple Records)

What were they doing up in a tree named Grace in the first place? It wasn’t even their tree! You see how forgiving God is…he didn’t smite the lawyer hip and thigh. That means there’s a chance I might not get smote…smited?…smitten?

Wow, seriously? He couldn’t get hurricane insurance in Florida? I had it for years when i lived there. I think it was more flood damage and wind damage insurance, but whatever. I had it, and I don’t think anyone would live there if they couldn’t get it. After my first hurricane down there, rates went up quite a bit. That was quite a while ago, though. I no longer live there so don’t know what changed, but with as many hurricanes as I’ve been hit by when I lived there, no way I would consider living there without.

This strip illustrats the now historical adage: Why don’t snakes (and sharks) bite lawyers? Professional curtesy.

“But you did forget to mention that the lawyer’s fee is so steep, it requires an eternity to pay off…”

Actually, I dealt with that straight off. On a contingency case, if he wins he gets paid; if he loses he doesn’t. That’s why the lawyer’s cut of these sorts of awards is so big. One big victory has subsidize a lot of hopeless causes.

This strip has a richer, more detailed, wall-to-wall art look than other “Wiley posts.” As a long-time Wiley watch …I like it. AND, I collect cartoons that use Biblical references

Several years ago I read a syndicated comic strip that featured a frog … can’t for the life of me remember the name of artists or the name of the strip … do remember that the art was very good and I believe that the artist was also a political cartoonist. Any one know?
