Bucky: this time I saw one, I saw a grim reaper out in the hall! Satchel: No, no, the bulb is out, it's just spooky! The same guy kissing a baby wouldn't seem so scary! It's contexty! You know what would chill you out? If you saw a grim reaper on an air vent, like marylin monroe! He'd be tryin' to keep his robe down, see, but he couldn't put his reaper thingy down, so he was all "ooh la la!" and shown' a little pelvis! Ha ha! Context!

Hah! After my nitpick yesterday about the conflict between the shadow and the perceived lighting (actually, the colorization) in the hallway, Satch tells us the bulb’s burnt out! But I assumed that Darby does the strips in black and white, and that someone else colorized them for this web site. My assumption was based on a recollection from a couple years ago that another artist did/does the same, though I don’t remember if that was here on GoComics, or That Other Site That Merged With It.
