No, gmartin997 is right. It is getting way too wimpy. Let’s make it a real man’s game and do away with all that wimpy protective gear. Just get rid of all those pads and the helmets and let ‘em play a man’s game (I WILL find the sarcasm font one of these days.)
IMHO (start sarcasm font) people who are maimed (or in fear of getting maimed) are just slightly distracted from their best possible athletic performance.

I’m sure that when the NFL stopped using leather helmets, the hardcore, armchair macho boys thought the league was getting too wimpy.
