you get drunk and call someone and say things you’ll regret the next morning.

Sen. Belfry probably has an aide whose job is to do his drunk dialing.

Now THAT’S a good idea.

So Roz is the designated dialer?

Need we say it’s also a bad idea to “drunk dial” 911 to announce your contemplating crimes?

Some years ago I was at a friends house around midnight

and the phone rang..I heard my friend say "Hello……yes

this is Bill." Then I heard him say "come on over then

you SOB."…I heard him laughing in the kitchen as he hung

up..I asked what was that all about as his face took on a

serious expression..He said "some drunk just called the

wrong number saying he was gonna kick some guy’s butt

named Bill..I just realized I may have gotten someone

in a lot of trouble."

Doesn’t sound like a bar to go to – just think of a bunch of guys who had way too much to drink selecting a phone out of a whole lot of similar phones… But maybe it keeps the clientele repeatedly returning in an attempt to reclaim their original phone… or maybe it’s just a great way to try out a different phone or, better still, to “upgrade” at a very low cost!

then there’s “pocket dialing” or “butt dialing”. the unknown, unplanned random hot-key dialup that could rat you out to just about any body, that you do to yourself…
