@arsmall – Answer: when I meet the person that is so much like me and yet so different that we harmonize when we are together…It’s not hard to be best friends with that kind of girl. It’s just too easy to fall in love.
@ScottPM – I was speaking generationally. I’m the last nice guy of my generation. And I do that stuff for women who I don’t date because I’m a writer and it helps me write my romance novels.
@RandomK9 – Physical appearance doesn’t matter to me. Besides, I took the chance to fall for a not-particularly-attractive girl I had a lot in common with who was sensitive, kind, caring, gentle, warm hearted, nice…and she turned out to be a vegan. And I can’t live without eggs and fish.
And anytime I ran into another girl like that she was either attached or disinterested. Besides, I’M the sensitive, kind, caring, gentle, warm hearted, nice guy that everyone overlooks because of my physical appearance. Otherwise, why else would I use a guy uglier than me (the writer Franz Kafka) as my profile pic? To make a statement. And why can’t I have my own standards of beauty? Meryl Streep and Stana Katic are two shining examples of that.
@Louie99TheKing – There’s a difference between desperation and exasperation. I was exasperated, not desperate. I’m sick of this promiscuous generation of teens and tweens I was born into.
@Linda Dean – There’s a difference between boasting and exasperation. I wasn’t boasting, I was exasperated. I’m sick of this promiscuous generation of teens and tweens I was born into.
@lightenup – I’m 21. And because I was the smartest kid in school, I was always the pariah. Even in college I was the smartest and still the pariah, even though I never showed off my brain.
@Violet Bay – Guys like me are dying out faster than the dinosaurs. If you’re on FB, maybe we could talk.
@JWF – the struggle continues.
And @olddog1 – thanks for rubbing salt in the wound, you bloody bugger.
Kafka, I hope that means rueful understanding and you weren’t really taking offense. I was speaking from experience as an old guy (over 3 time your age).@arsmall, do you by any chance have an unattached grandmother?
@Kafka – at 21, I still think you are young and there is a great girl out there for you. It is hard, but just forget about finding her for now and have fun. She will come into your life when you least expect it.
Open your soul and listen for that one soul that is calling out to yours..that one that syncs with you on every level..the one that you just KNOW before feelings ever come into play….the very one that, in their presence no words need to be spoken…the one whose touch or an item belonging to that person, settles and calms your spirit…the one that, when you are apart, you know, can feel them reaching out to you…the one that, when you first meet and begin to explore one another’s intellect, can finish your thoughts…or better yet, you already know how they will answer….don’t settle and then happen upon this person, only to discover that it is too dangerous even to be casual friends…only to discover you lost your best friend even before you found them..
@od1 – lol..unforutnately, granny pass on going on 10 years ago..unlike me, she was quite the high maintenance gal.

@Kafka You are an absolutely amazing individual.
Do not ever, ever settle.
