Wow, Claire. Try to remember it’s an Italian restaurant and not a Denny’s.

One of the common mistakes of failing restaurants is having menus that are too extensive, trying to cater to too many tastes and neglecting the quality and timings.

stop right there!!! You don’t need items on the menu that the chef is not familiar with. Stick to the tried and true things but do a……..say, taste of Italy night with small samples of all things from his home country and let the people in the neighborhood see how yummy they are, do a speciality night. WE have a Mexican restaurant here in Fort Worth that has only say 3 items on its hand written menu, but they change every so often and I can tell you it is truly successful and always crowded.

c’mon, guys. Don’t you think the author and artist know this and have plans? They don’t just randomly see where an arc leads. Just wait while their plot develops or do your own comic and show the world how it is done.

Speaking as a vegan, I never assume any kind of sauce I didn’t prepare myself is vegetarian (much less vegan) unless explicitly told it is. Even if I ask for a basic marinara, there’s a chance the cook is going to decide it needs some diced sausage or grated cheese in it. :(Whether or not the owner seems to know what “vegetarian” means is very often the factor that decides for me if I should patronize or avoid a restaurant. No, Giovanni doesn’t need to put American or Middle Eastern fare on his menu. But yes, PLEASE, something vegetarian!

It suddenly occurs to me that this is exactly why I so love the Monty Python sketch I took my handle from. They need to warn you if there’s a “crunchy raw unboned real dead frog” in there!
